How to play Kiomet
Conquering the watchtower
In Kiomet, you will use your military units to occupy and control watchtowers scattered across the map. Successfully capturing these towers will not only expand your territorial control but also strengthen your strategic position, creating the premise for long-term plans.
Currently, the game offers a diverse system with 27 different types of watchtowers, each with its own characteristics and advantages, along with 10 unique types of military units.
Upgrading the watchtower
After successfully conquering, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your towers by clicking on the tower and choosing the desired upgrade level. Each upgrade not only brings significant improvements to the tower's power or special abilities, but also requires you to meet certain conditions, such as accumulating enough resources or achieving specific in-game achievements.
Army dispatch system
In Kiomet, troop dispatch and tactical management are key to victory. Here are some important mechanics to help you optimize your strategy:
- Move troops: You can drag and drop units from one watchtower to another to occupy or reinforce defense. This action helps expand territory or strengthen defense at key points.
- Create supply lines: Special buildings such as Airports, Artillery, Barracks, Missile Launch Sites have the ability to automatically send troops to other towers via supply lines. For efficient management, you can hold the R key to display all supply lines on the map, or press Shift + R to delete them if necessary. This mechanism helps optimize the allocation of forces and ensure that towers are always supported in time.
- Protect the King: The King is the central character and protecting the King is the deciding factor in winning or losing. You can move the King to safe structures such as the Underground or Headquarters to avoid surprise attacks from the opponent.
Important tactical elements
- Alliance system: Kiomet allows you to form alliances with other players. By selecting an opponent's tower and clicking the Shake Hands button, you can propose or accept an alliance. Once an alliance is formed, the two sides will not be able to attack each other.
- Chat mechanism: You can communicate and exchange tactics via the chat system located in the lower left corner of the screen. Remember to follow the rule of not sharing personal information in the chat room.
- Development platform: Kiomet is written in the Rust language, using open source software and sound effects under the CC0 license. The game's soundtrack was composed by Tim Beek, while the towers' visuals were created by AI Craiyon and DALL·E.
